Enter your treasure at the Sumter County Fair

Enter your treasure at the Sumter County Fair

Sewing, quilting, canning, art and photography -  bug collections, plastic animals, home grown veggies, greeting cards…just a beginning for a long list of categories to compete in. It’s a list for the annual Family Living Expo at the Sumter County Fair and you’re invited to enter.

Chances are, if you can imagine it, we can judge it! There are categories for fresh eggs, baked goods, jams, jellies and fresh produce, blankets, clothes and more.

It’s time to get your projects in motion, or gather the treasures you’ve made over the past year and prepare to enter – display your creations and earn your ribbon – blue, red or white. Judging is based on the Danish system, so everybody gets one!

The competition is open to everyone, of all ages. It doesn't matter if you’re in 4-H or out, this is a competition for everybody in the county!

You've still got another couple of months before the county fair starts, but it's definitely time to start your project or make your plans to enter.

Entry forms and rules should be available by the end of January – you’ll be able to get them either online at www.sumtercountytimes.com, at www.sumterfair.net or at either the Sumter County Times or Sumter County Extension office.

Sunday school teachers, school teachers, artistic and educational groups – get your goodies together and enter – remember, it’s open to all!

There will be two sets of rules, one for children and teens and another set for adults.

There's a category for just about everything, including growing produce and raising eggs, digital photography and special collections.

If you can't find a category for what you create, chances are good we can find a place to fit it in.

Adult and Youth rules are posted below on this site and give entry dates and specifics. To view, click the appropriate link below.
