Orlando Merti, 85, of The Villages, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013. Mr. Merti was born in Gallatin, Pa., Dec. 28, 1927. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara; son, Edmund of Chicago, Ill.; daughter, Michelle Schwarz of Chicago, Ill. Mildred Arnold King Fort, 84
Mildred Arnold King Fort went home to be with her Lord Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013. She was born Oct. 17, 1929, to Max and Martha Arnold in Live Oak, Fla., where she was the oldest of seven siblings. They relocated to the Citrus and Sumter County area. Mildred owned King’s Wrecker Service and Garage in Wildwood and Rutland for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Martha Arnold; her first husband, Lester King; second husband, Roy Fort; daughter, Tammy King Johnson; stepdaughters, Patsy King and Suzie Fort; and many other relatives. Survivors include her siblings, Abbie Eckhart, Annie (Bill) Hall, Ruby Williams, Billy (Pat) Arnold, Don (Sherry) Arnold and Edith (Mitchell) Crabtree; her children, Elizabeth Ann Williams, and Gene (Gail) King; her stepchildren, Paul King of Bowden, Ga., Gail Fort Edwards, Beth Fort Tillis and Kenneth (Lena) Fort; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be at Banks-Page Theus Funeral Home at 410 Webster Street, Wildwood, with service 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2013. Interment followed at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Wildwood. Sandra Gay Hart, 64, of Bushnell, Fla., died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Leesburg. She was born March 19, 1949 in Clermont. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Earl Hart of Bushnell; son, Dave (Anna) Carlton of Bell; daughter, Tamara (Chris) Comis of Bushnell. The Rev. Warren Wilbert Bennett, went home to the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013. He was born Aug. 16, 1946, in Jamaica, N.Y., to the late Wessell C. and E. Virginia Bennett. He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Bonnie; stepchildren, Lynda (Tommy) Gregg of Palm Bay, Fla., and William “Billy” Hammel of Northport, Fla.; grandchildren, Matthew and Brandon Gregg; sister, Barbara (CHB) Leonard of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and his niece, Leslie S. Reddick of Chesapeake, Va. Rev. Bennett graduated from Catholic University, obtained a Masters of Social Work from the University of Maryland, then a Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. In his career he has served as director of Easter Seal in Washington, DC; director of the Kidney Foundation in Jacksonville; and administrator of Country Acres Children’s Home in Titusville. He entered the Methodist ministry and has served White City UMC, Lake Panasoffkee UMC and Emmanuel UMC in Melbourne. Memorial may be made to Hospice of St. Francis, 1250-B Grumman Place, Titusville FL 32780. Barbara Ann Hurst Smallwood, died Nov. 9, 2013, at the age of 73. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald; daughters, Tammy S. Roark (Steve) of Marrero, La., and Brenda S. Smallwood (fiancé Rick) of Denham Springs, La.; sons, Donald B. Smallwood Jr. of Ocala, and Joseph P. Smallwood (Tonya) of Pineville, La. Visitation will be at Banks-Page Theus Funeral Home in Wildwood, 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013. Burial will follow at Pinelevel Cemetery in Oxford.
