There racing cars, Ginches, pink poodles, snow queens and horses. There antique cars, housewives of Lake Panasoffkee, marching bands, princes, princesses and Nativity scenes – all along C.R. 470 Saturday morning as Lake Panasoffkee residents held their annual Christmas Parade.
This year’s event was coordinated as part of the Lake Panasoffkee Neighborhood Project and included more than 60 entry groups. The organizations ranged from Economizer IGA Panasoffkee Hardware to Sumter County’s Relay for Life.
Even Santa was on board, riding what else in Panasoffkee, but an airboat.
The parade led to the recreation park, where Santa and a number of helpful elf volunteers set up shop to host a Christmas festival. The event included fun and games, food, exhibitors and a visit with Santa.
See next week’s edition of the Sumter County Times for photos of class princes and princesses from Lake Panasoffkee Elementary School.
