The future of State Road 50 through Sumter County will be the subject of public workshops next week in Lake and Hernando Counties.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has planned the workshops for 5:30-7:30 p.m. each day, Tuesday, July 11, in Mascotte, and Thursday, July 13, in Ridge Manor.

FDOT with its consulting engineers are holding these public information workshops to show alternatives being considered for improvements to an approximately 20-mile-long section of the highway from U.S. 301 in Ridge Manor to County Road 33 in Mascotte.
