Always, Patsy Cline
Nationally known musical Always, Patsy Cline, will be produced at New Covenant United Methodist Church on Thursday and Friday, May 7 and 8, at 7 p.m. Musical show features local favorites Pat Smith as Patsy Cline and Sylvia Whitney as Louise Seger. All proceeds go to support the Jean Kelly “Backpack for Kids” program, supporting children in the Wildwood and The Villages Charter Schools.
Wednesday, April 15th, Dade Nature/History Walk, 9 a.m. to noon
The general public is invited out to Dade Battlefield Historic State Park for a nature/history walk. The Sumter County Master Gardeners will also join the walk along the Fort King Road and the Pine Flatwoods Trail.
Hailed as a top world music artist, international sensation, Celtic Thunder, brings their "very best of" tour to the Lakeland Center oat 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22. Tickets are $43, $53 and $63 (service charges will apply) and are available at the Lakeland Center Box Office.
Smoking cessation/diabetes classes
Langley Health Services, in Sumterville, offers free smoking cessation and diabetes classes that are held here on selective days. The participants do not have to be a patient of Langley’s. Lake-Sumter Chapter 662 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees meets the third Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m. in Leesburg at the IHOP, 10332 U.S. Highway 441, Lees-burg. There are informative speakers at each meeting along with a business session.

On Saturday, March 21, the City of Bushnell hosted its first "Crafts on the Corner" craft show in the beautiful downtown park. The first of what's planned as an annual event was a success, with a collection of vendors and a variety of items, according to coordinator Kellie Mason.
Wood carver Jim Fife was a big hit with the crowd. He created several pieces on site, including a wood spirit, a bear and an owl.
