County Library System
The Sumter County Library System announces that customers now have access to free online learning for new driv-ers. The online interactive practice tests are based on the DMV manual and provide immediate feedback. Customers can take the practice tests as many times as needed. Practice tests are available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through the library’s website, www.sumtercountyfl.gov/library. All programs are always free of charge. www.sumtercountyfl.gov.
Through Sept. 24, Sumter County Parks and Recreation will be renovating the Sumterville Community Building. As a result, during this period the Sumter County Arts Guild will meet at the Lake Panasoffkee Recreation Center at 1589 C.R. 459, Lake Panasoffkee. Meeting day and time remains the same: Wednesdays between 1 and 3 p.m. The members of the Sumter County Arts Guild invite all artisans to attend - get and give ideas on current projects from painting to stained glass, from wood carving to drawing, etc.

Visit the jaguar
The Florida International Teaching Zoo (FITZ), an accredited world recognized leader in captive conservation of the endangered black jaguar announces the arrival of Indigo –the black jaguar. Indigo was born at the Montgomery, Ala., Zoo last fall and is the genesis of Fitz, next generation of black jaguar reproduction.

Rutland registering for VBS
Mark the time and date: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 26 – that’s when the First Baptist Church of Rutland is holding registration for their Vacation Bible School program.
The Bible school will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m., July 30 through Aug. 1. The summer fun will be for children ages three years through sixth grade and will include games and refreshments.
