  • CELEBRATING 50th ANNIVERSARY

    April 7, 1962 was a wonderful day for Albert and Marilyn (Crum) Jordan - they were married that day at the First Baptist Church in Bushnell, Sumter County, Florida, where Marilyn’s pioneer family has lived since 1842.
    They began their married life in Inverness where Albert was born and raised. He worked for Bob and Norine Gilstrap at Home Furniture Store, and Marilyn began her career with the City of Inverness. After 38 fulfilling years with the city, Marilyn retired in 2003 as city clerk and Albert retired from self employment in his TV antenna business.

    The bride is a digital design academy teacher at Wildwood Middle High School and the groom is a financial counselor at Orlando Health.
    The marriage will take place on March 17, 2012 at 1st United Methodist Church of Bushnell.

    Announcement is made today of the engagement of Amber Nichole Briggs and John Mark Brack. Miss Briggs is the daughter of Ms. Michele LaBlue of North Adams, Massachusetts and Robert Briggs Jr. of Cheshire, Massachusetts. Mr. Brack is the son of Beverly and Bill Brack, both of Bushnell.
    A Sept. 6 wedding is planned at the Town Common in Adams, Mass.

  • Myers, Shuyler to wed

    Emily Elizabeth Myers and James Andrew Shuyler have announced their engagement.
    The couple plans to wed at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 23rd at the Bushnell Presbyterian Church – the service is open to family and friends who wish to attend.
    Myers is the daughter of Lisa Hicks of Leesburg and Ken Myers of Mariposa, Calif.

  • 69th anniversary

    George and Jean Buhmeyer will be celebrating their 69th Anniversary July 11, 2011 with their two daughters Dianne Stokes and Jane Fiorenza who also live at Lake Panasoffkee. The Buhmeyers moved to Lake Panasoffkee 34 years ago. They also have 6 grandchildren and 9 great
    grandchildren.

    Sara A. Morris and Douglas G. Stewart of St. Petersburg have announced their engagement and plans for a summer 2012 wedding.
    Sara is the daughter of Suzanne and the late Ken Morris of St. Petersburg. Sara is a 2004 graduate of Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, Shawnee, Kansas, and 2008 graduate of Indiana University. She is a Dental Hygienist in Largo.

  • Customers enjoy sunshine, music, food and sales

    An estimated 250 people attended the Customer Appreciation Celebration at the Thunderbird Plaza last Saturday, June 4, according to coordinator Dawn Palmer.
    “We had a wonderful time. I was very pleased,” she said.
    Palmer owns Dawn Palmer’s Clothing and Collectibles in the Lake Panasoffkee plaza.
    Several of the businesses opted to show their appreciation for customer support through giveaways, free food and special sales.
    There was free food as well as baked goods and barbecue dinners available for purchase.

  • Fun In The Sun Fashion fundraiser

    The Royal Community Center was the fashionable location for the Fun In The Sun fashion show fundraiser on Friday, April 29.
    The event was held to help fund the Tri-County LadyBallers softball team who is the host of the official softball tournament during the Annual Royal Homecoming Weekend.
