Roger Jones is shown with a “courting buggy” manufactured by Ideal. The carriage is noted for its somewhat narrow seat. Like many of the carriages and buggies in Jones’ collection, this one has distinctive, narrow wooden wheels with rubber tires for a quieter ride on pavement.
Bygone days on the farm

A small engine, smoking and popping a little, turns a couple of large, old-fashioned ice cream churns with wooden ice buckets. It’s a sight often seen at events in the county such as the Bushnell Fall Festival.

The unusual, somewhat antiquated churn is something that Roger and Johanna Jones like to take out to any number of events, and while the device is part mechanical intrigue and part nostalgic wonder, it’s figuratively just the little curl on top of the cone.
