After it was all over, South Sumter High head football coach Inman Sherman was most grateful his team was able to play.
He could have been grateful that his team stayed unbeaten.
South Sumter, 2-0, ranked number one in Class 5A, beat the Pirates 42-6 Saturday in a game that was postponed from Friday night due to a muddy field.
South Sumter back J.T. Taylor had 10 carries for 148 yards. He scored on a 63-yard run and a 65-yard punt return.
