Leesburg High’s football team may have done South Sumter High a major favor Friday night at H.O. Dabney Stadium.
South Sumter finished its season with a 10-0 mark and a lock on the number one ranking in the Class 5A football polls.
More importantly, the Raiders had to work to beat Leesburg 34-28. The Raiders needed the challenge as they start the playoffs tomorrow against Citra North Marion.
South Sumter quarterback Reace Kinley had to throw a long touchdown pass to J.T. Taylor late in the game to give the Raiders the victory.
