Linden legacy lives on

-A A +A

SLIDESHOW BELOW THE STORY...For 11 decades, members of the Linden community have gathered each June for the Linden Cemetery Picnic.

The picnic last Saturday, June 28, was typical of an election-year picnic, with an even bigger crowd than usual and alive with political candidates and supporters.

The picnic, a fundraiser to help with the upkeep of the Linden Cemetery, started in 1897 and is a longstanding tradition for many families.

James Statham, 82, who grew up in Linden, has been coming to the picnics all his life.
