Webb selected as Rays' bat girl

-A A +A
By Brenda Locklear

What could be better than spending Mother’s Day afternoon at a Tampa Bay Rays’ game? How about being named Honorary Bat Girl for 2014 and tossing out the first ball of the game, with Evan Longoria as your catcher?
If you know local resident Connie Webb, you know that’s exactly how she spent last Sunday.
A big Ray’s fan, Connie’s daughter Katrina nominated her for the honor, which earned her a collection of goodies, including a hug from player Evan Longoria and a chance to throw out the first ball during the Mother’s Day game.
