  • Billy Graham Jr. recently returned from his third tour of duty in Iraq.

This time, something followed him home: a Bronze Star Medal.

The honor was awarded for the National Guardsman’s work at the Camp Bucca prison camp – a theater internment facility in the military’s terms — where he served as a liaison officer. Graham, a 39-year-old Wildwood High School alumnus now living back in Coleman, worked with, and resolved differences between, the Iraqi correctional officers and the Americans stationed there.

The bloodhounds, ages five months and five years, both came on board with the agency this year.

Red Man, the older of the two, worked at Desoto Correctional Institution before coming to the sheriff’s office, said his handler, Deputy William Lamb.
