  • USDA joins nation's communities to feed children during summer

    By Kevin Concannon,
USDA Under Secretary for Food, Nutrition and

The members of the U.S. House of Representatives have been working in Washington on 41 of the first 127 days of this year. They are planning to be in session half of the remaining weeks. How long would you keep your job if you worked like that? Even when they show up they fail to address the biggest problems facing the country. It would take a 50 percent tax increase in order to balance the so called budget yet they are avoiding the problem while the debt grows by $1,200 billion per year.

Is it just me or are most guys having this problem? During the past several decades more and more businesses are providing credit-card-like shopping cards to use either for purchasing their items or for getting special discounts.
I’m getting to the point where I’m starting to cringe when a business employee hands me yet another application for one of their cards.
These cards didn’t exist several decades ago, and you could get discounts without them. Yes, they were simpler times.
